Join us for a special performance by Chamber Project St. Louis as they explore composers and music that reveal layers of complexity and skill that may not be apparent without deeper listening. For example, Jean Emil Cras studied composition with the great French masters of the 20th century, although he spent most of his time on a ship, inventing navigation devices. Ernst von Dohnanyi stood his ground against accusations from all sides in Hungary during the Holocaust, only to have his secrets revealed after he is buried in Florida decades later. And Allison Loggins-Hull reveals layers of possibility for how music can be created in her work for solo flute.
Innovative concert experiences, inclusive programming, and St. Louis-inspired musical excellence define Chamber Project St. Louis. Since its founding in 2007, talented musicians from across the Saint Louis region join together to present chamber music of yesterday and today, engaging audiences in unique settings. Each concert features a different collection of musicians.
